Paul Otto Langenbeck

Paul O. Langenbeck, WWII Army Air Corps veteran, died Easter Sunday April 20th at home in Gretna with his daughter at his bedside. He was 91.
Born in Manchester, Missouri, the 2nd of 4 boys, he graduated from Manchester High School and later, earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Missouri. He moved to New Orleans in 1953 as a sales engineer for Barry-Wehmiller Machinery. In 1962, he started Langenbeck, Inc. as a manufacturer’s sales representative calling on a variety of bottling and brewery industries in Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. The company grew to include his brother, Don and two oldest sons. He was a long term member of the Texas Brewers Association. Craftsman and machinist at heart, he could fix anything. He earned his private pilot’s license at age 55 and loved to fly. Golf was also a passion.
Mr. Langenbeck was active in all branches of FreeMasonry. In 2005, he received the 33rd-degree of the New Orleans Scottish Rite. He was a past master of James M. Walley Lodge #300. He previously served on the Board of Dryades Savings & Loan and was a former president of Timberlane Country Club.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Marie and George, his brother Earl and his son Paul, Jr. He is survived by his ex-wife, Lucille Borie, two sons: Kenneth Paul, Keith Allen, his daughter Peggy Marie and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Clyde H. Langenbeck of Kimberling City, MO and Donald F. Langenbeck of Harahan, LA, 3 neices: Kay, Sandra and Sharon and nephew: Don Jr.
He will be dearly missed by many friends, business peers and family.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held Saturday April 26th at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy in Harvey from 9am – 12n. Burial will be in Houston, TX on Monday April 28th at the Houston National Cemetery with VFW honors at 2p.
