Monique Sanchez Davis

Monique Sanchez Davis passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 62. Beloved wife of Thomas S. Davis. Mother of David "Tyger" Hale. Sister of Elaine S. White, John N. Sanchez, and Jane S. Southgate. Daughter of the late Marguerite Dumas Sanchez and Wilbert "Blackie" Sanchez. Daughter-in-law of Betty Lou McMurray Davis and the late Wilbur George Davis. Grandmother of Skylar Jamieson Hale. Best friend of Lois Olsen Hogan for 52 years. She was a lover of animals, especially horses and dogs. She liked to "give back" to the community and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. After having defeated cervical cancer herself, she would drive cancer patients to their treatments. She loved taking care of her husband and son. She has been fighting cancer since 2008. She was a patron of Michelli's Lounge and was an avid fan of Drive-Side Daiquiris. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes and her favorite thing to do was eating boiled crabs. She was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11am. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery will be private. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9am until 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society and P.A.W.S. of Belle Chasse.
