Marion Wayne Browning Sr.

December 5, 1920 — August 13, 2017

Marion “Pops” Wayne Browning, Sr. passed away August 13, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Elaine Bernos Browning. Father of Robert Browning, Pamela Browning, Marion “Wayne” Browning, Jr., and the late James Browning and Byron Browning. Grandfather of Jamie Mata (Jaime) and Justin Browning (Amie) and four great-grandsons. Age 96 years and a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Pops retired from the United States Navy having served during World War II as a First Class Yeoman. He went on to a second career until retirement with the US Postal Service Algiers Branch. He was an active member of the Waggaman Golden Agers. Pops had a lifelong love for bowling, having bowled for the Navy, and ICRR Bowling League at Colonial Lanes, as well as with the Westbank Seniors until November of 2016. He also loved attending the dog races at Mobile Greyhound Park with his family.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:30 PM.
