Katsuko Kawakami Cox

Katsuko Kawakami Cox passed away on August 17, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of the late CWO-4 William Harold Cox, USMC (Ret.). Mother of Mika Culpepper and Robert Cox. Grandmother of Lacey Culpepper, Misty Cox, Robert Cox Jr., Jacob Cox and Jade Cox. Great-grandmother of Myla Cox. Sister of Kayoko Uehara. Daughter of the late Meyoko Kawakami. Also survived by many loving family and friends.
Katsuko was a true artist. She was an accomplished musician and concertist with the koto and with her beloved Bill, music always filled their home. She was a talented florist who mastered the art of floral arranging. Just one short month after the loss of her husband, evidence of true love that she could not bear to live without him. Following his passing on July 12, 2014, she was ready to join the love of her life in Heaven. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery along with her beloved Bill at a later date.
