Kate Rita Deaton Guidry

Kate Rita Deaton “MaMare” Guidry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Joseph Guidry Sr; son, Jules S. Guidry; daughter-in- law, Joan B. Guidry; sons- in-law, Leander B. Morgan III and Michael J. Gerrets Sr.; parents, Randolph Deaton Sr. and Lelia Falcon Deaton; brother, Randolph “R.D.” Deaton Jr.; brother- in- law, Henry Davis; sister- in-law, Yvonne Deaton . She is loving mother of Joseph Guidry Jr., Cyleria G. Gerrets and Lillian G. Davis (Richard M.). She is mother- in- law of Patricia G. Smith. She is devoted grandmother of , Joseph Guidry III, Jon J. Guidry, Chad A. Guidry, Jeanne M. Valladares, Leander B. Morgan IV, Michele G. Berger, Michael J. Gerrets Jr, Tara M. Lopez, Terry “T.J.” M. Lopez Jr., Richie Davis, Kristen Davis, Mark Davis and Austin Davis. She is sister of Julia D. Davis. She is also survived by numerous, great and great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was a member of John McDonogh VFW Auxillary 3121 of Gretna, LA, Sultanas of Aragon No. 65 of Algiers, LA, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary for Council 1724 of Algiers, LA, Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary No. 3 of Metairie, LA and St. Cletus Ladies Club of Gretna, LA. Other than her loving family, her passions were gardening, traveling, shopping and her many friends. A special thank you is given to Sandy Smith and Hollie Boartfield for their compassionate and loving care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, August 11, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:30 PM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Interment Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana.
