Juan Michael Valence, Sr.

Juan Michael Valence Sr. Passed away surrounded in love by his family on Friday, September 26, 2014 at age of 59.

Juan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Charles Joseph Valence and Patricia Weyer Valence on July 19, 1955. He went to Archbishop Shaw High School, and graduated in 1973. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nicholls State University. He worked in the oil industry for Texaco for 25 years, and later as a Procurement Manager for Pelican Energy Consultants for 9 years.

Juan is survived by his wife: Anne Ciaccio Valence, children: Jennifer Valence Waguespack and Juan Michael Valence Jr., parents: Patricia Weyer Valence and Charles Joseph Valence, sisters: Charlene Valence Paz and Celi Valence Alexie, half brother: Charles "Chuck" Valence Jr., and grandchildren: Cody Michael Valence, Hailey Madelyn Waguespack, Evan Michael Waguespack, and Cameron Luke Waguespack.

He enjoyed many sports and outdoor activities and sporting events. He lived his life to the fullest and loved the people in his life with his whole heart. He was an amazing and beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, Louisiana on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Mass will be held at st. Joseph Church in Gretna, Louisiana at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
