Joyce Natalie Fonseca Price, 87 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home at 11:05 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born January 14, 1930 in New Orleans, LA. She was a graduate of Behrman High School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the Gretna Athletic Boosters.
Joyce was an active member of St. Cletus Catholic Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Buddy Fonseca; her father, Stenman Fonseca and her eldest son, Michael David Price.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Louis I. Price; children, Kathy Smith (Bobby), Lori Greive (Craig) and Randy Price (April); sister, Marilyn Coley; grandchildren, Ryan and Brett Smith, Misty Gray Gold, Cliff Gray, Erik and Jason Price, Chris Price and Jessica Allo; great-grandchildren, Jesse and Tyler Gold, Lillian and Loraine Price, Haley and Tyler Allo and her loving and faithful companion, “Nicky”.
Everyone she met was her friend and she had no enemies. She was very fortunate to have special neighbors in MaryAnn and Tommy Buquoi and a lifelong hairdresser in Mr. Joe Glorioso who accomplished “Mission Impossible” weekly according to her husband.
She enjoyed bowling, po-ke-no and playing gin rummy on her laptop. She was a faithful follower of the Chicago Cubs and New Orleans Saints.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
