John Anthony Hubert Remy

John Anthony Hubert Remy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the young age of 93. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 63 years, Ruth Matherne Remy; his granddaughter, Anna R. Remy; his parents, Anna Loria Remy and Troy Remy; and his brother, Paul L. Remy. He is the loving father of Rickey M. Remy, John L. Remy (Kim) and Mariann Remy Germany (Kerstin). He is the devoted grandfather of David M. Remy, Christopher N. Germany, Jordan L. Remy, Adrienne Remy Clements (Chad), Elise Remy Duplan (Dustin) and Michael Dion. He is the devoted great grandfather of Aidia Rain Remy. He is the beloved brother of Catherine Remy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A resident of Belle Chasse and native of New Orleans, John was a Proud US Navy Veteran who served in both World War II and The Korean Conflict. He flew his American Flag every day. He was a gentle man with many wonderful stories and antidotes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, February 9, 2018 beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30 PM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers the family requests that everyone fly the American flag in John’s memory.
