Janeth Gaile Lachmann peacefully passed away on Monday, March 20, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Adolph I. Lachmann. Mother of Gretchen L. Lopez (Manuel) and Pauline L. Hartwell. Grandmother of Anthony Lopez, Aaron Lopez, Justin Hartwell, Rhett Hartwell (Ashton), and Treavor Hartwell. Daughter of the late Hattie Coulon Gaile and Jacob T. Gaile. Sister of Patsy Hubert (late Bubby). Sister-in-law of Thelma L. Brass (Joe), Shirley Lachmann, Arnold Lachmann, and the late Phyllis Bernard (Jerry), Adolph O. Lachmann, and Dorothy L. Ray. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Age 79 years and lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. Janeth attended Holy Name of Mary High School Algiers, LA. She devoted her life to her family as a wonderful wife and homemaker, a great mother, and grandmother extraordinaire to her five grandsons. She was an active parishioner and Eucharistic minister with St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gretna, LA where she was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1905 Ladies Auxilliary. She volunteered often with St. Anthony Catholic School. For over 50 years she enjoyed playing with her Pokeno card club. Janeth fought her battle with ALS with an incredible enthusiasm, sense of humor, and outlook on life. Special thanks to the ALS Ochsner team for their care and support.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 5 PM until 9 PM. Visitation will resume at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 924 Monroe St., Gretna, LA on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10 AM until Mass time at 11:30 AM.
