James H. Lashley, M.D.

James H. Lashley, M.D. passed away peacefully on October 17, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of the late Joyce K. Lashley. Father of Donald K. Lashley (Mary), Susan Lashley Dotson (the late George), Terry Lashley (Dave Sanger) and Charlotte Lashley. Grandfather of Ashley Lynn Braig, Kellie Eileen Haney, Donald James Dotson, Gabriel Bennett-James Soto. Great-grandfather of Devon Sean Haney, Taevin Lang Haney, Camden George Nguyen and Carter Vu Nguyen. Brother of the late Marjorie Lashley Randow. Son of the late Ora Wallace Lashley and Houston Lashley. Also survived by his beloved dog Sweetie. He will be deeply missed by his care-givers Marybell and Emma who loved him dearly.
Dr. Lashley served in the U.S. Air Force as a medical officer. He graduated from Louisiana College in Pineville, LA and attended L.S.U. Medical School and completed his residency at Charity Hospital. He practiced for many years as an obstetrician and gynecologist with the Women’s Clinic on the Westbank and was a staff physician at West Jefferson Medical Center and Meadowcrest Hospital. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in his hometown of Alexandria, LA.
