Howard P. Gros passed away on October 26, 2014 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of the late Vivian Gros by second marriage and of the late Deanna Berry Gros by first marriage. Father of Kenneth J. Gros (Shelly), Melody “Tuddy” Ramsey and Kelly Sue Lanassa. Grandfather of Kelsey; Savanna and Shayla; Ashley, Barry Jr., Steven and Stephanie. Great-grandfather of Grant, Madison, Hunter, Jordan and an expectant great-grandson. Brother of Theresa Schassar (Fred), Yvonne Prowell (James), Ruby Gros, Patricia Prowell (Larry), George Gros (Maryann), James “Jim” Gros, Percy Gros (Cindy), the late Leroy, Larry and Shirley Boos. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Howard was a member of the Seafarers International Union, worked for Dixie Carriers and later retired from Kirby Marine. He was an usher at St. Cletus Church for many years. Howard was talented in the kitchen and loved to visit and talk with most anyone. He traveled the world with his beloved Vivian, visiting Italy, Germany, Hawaii and beyond. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
