Howard Curtis Baylis, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was born on March 14, 1938, in West Grove, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Harriett Baylis. After graduating from West Grove Junior-Senior High School, Howard joined the U.S. Navy. While on deployment in Morocco, he met and married Noelle France Benoit. After returning to the states, they were stationed in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, where they built a home and family.
After leaving the Navy, he established a career with Bell South, but his true passion was collecting, refurbishing, and sharing his love for antiques with others.
However, as much as he enjoyed antiques, nothing compared to the love and special bond that he had with his five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Harriett Baylis; his wife Noelle; his brothers Robert, Raymond, Ronald, and Barry; and his sisters Emma Baylis Miller and Nancy Baylis Maxey.
He is survived by his three children; Gwendolyn Baylis Newman (John), Jeffery (Heidi) and Gregory; five grandchildren, Justin, Hunter, Sophia, Vance and Lillian; three sisters Sally Baylis, Ruth Baylis, Susan Baylis Brown; and brother, Theodore Baylis along with many loving friends.
Howard was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed.
