Gertrude Barbier Juneau

March 23, 1942 — January 5, 2018

Gertrude Barbier Juneau passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Juneau Jr. Loving mother of Todd Juneau (Lisa), Terry Juneau (Donna) and Troy Juneau (Laurie). Grandmother of Michael, Corey, Rory, Robert, Amanda, Nicole, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Zachary and Emily. Great-grandmother of Jordan, Christian, Christina, Dominick, Gabriel, Cole, Ayden and Giselle. Sister of Emile Barbier Jr. (the late Fay), Wayne Barbier (Patsy) and the late Brian Barbier. Daughter of the late Emile and Gladys Arabie Barbier. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Gertrude worked for many years as a Teacher’s Aide with the Jefferson Parish Public School System, serving students at Higgins High School and later at Louisiana Vo-Tech in Harvey. She touched the hearts and lives of so many during her years. While her passing is sorrowful, her life and legacy will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425 W. Metairie Avenue in Metairie on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10 AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will follow at the Church. Interment will be private.
