Ernest A. "Black" Bernard

Ernest A. “Black” Bernard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucia “Tutsie” Allo Banquer Bernard; his parents, Eusebe and Mable Pierce Bernard; his siblings, Gertrude Osborne, Hazwood Bernard, Rita Bernard, and Mable Baldassaro. He is the loving father of Beth Cuadrado (Pete). He is the devoted grandfather of Grady Bell III. He is the loving great grandfather of Mason Henry Bell. He is the loving step-father of John Banquer (Stella), Pam Giampietro (Carl), Cheryl Muscarello (Tony), Merryl Bayer (Gerald), and Paul Banquer (Lucy). He is the cherished sister of Dora Thibodaux (Ronald). He is also survived by niece, Missy Mendez (Willie) and nephew, Ronnie Thibodeaux Jr. (Shani); several other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Black was a proud US Army Veteran who enjoyed playing his guitar and singing and gardening. He was full of life and enjoyed living it. His greatest passion was his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, June 29, 2018 beginning at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.
