Edwin Duane Martinez

Edwin Duane Martinez passed away on January 11, 2018. Beloved husband of Sherrie Melford Martinez. Father of Melodie Martinez and Edwin Martinez, Jr. Son of the late Gillis Martinez and Dorothy Mudgett Martinez. Brother of the late Randy Martinez (Kathy) and the late Linda Blouin (late Tracy). Brud-in-law of Daniel Melford (Debbie), Harry Melford (Pamela), Blaine Melford, Elaine M. Doucet, Paula Melford, Pamela Melford, and late Jeffrey Melford (Tina). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Age 71 years, a native of Westwego, LA and resident of Kentwood, LA for the past 11 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and lifelong member and Assistant Chief of the Westwego Volunteer Fire Department, and retired employee of the City of Westwego after 35 years.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM. Visitation will be held from 3:30 PM until 6:30 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Richard Murphy Hospice House, 1109 S.
