Douglas Joseph Poche, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 1, 2017, at his residence in Terrytown, LA. at the age of 80. He was born in Hester, LA. He is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 45 years, Jane Arceneaux Poche. He is survived by his 5 children: Joan Poche Landry (Vincent), Douglas Joseph Poche (Nina), Marie Poche Firmin (Gene), John David Poche (Lisa) and Dean Michael Poche (Anita). He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Lindsey, Vincent, Christina, Casey, Desiree, Matthew, Michael, Aline, Lacey Jae, Bryan, Zachary, Amber, Ashley, Teddy and 5 great grandchildren. He is the loving brother-in-law to: Carlin Hebert, Richard Arceneaux, Sr. Joan Arceneaux, Margaret Gaudin, Cheryl Burns, Linda Poche and Kim Poche. He was the loving uncle and godfather to many nieces and nephews. Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Mark Poche, his mother Enola Roussel Poche, 6 brothers and 1 sister: Harris, Elwood, Warren, Larry, Barry, Mark “Booga” and Jewel. Douglas retired after 35 years with Entergy. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was also a member of the Bucket Truck Fishing Crew where he enjoyed many years of his favorite pastime. He was a lifelong parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church in Terrytown. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:45am.
