Doris Grabert Sampey

Doris Grabert Sampey passed away peacefully on April 2, 2018 at the age of 104. Beloved wife of the late Everal Sampey. Loving mother of Harold Sampey (Fay), Floyd Sampey (Emily), David Sampey (Gail) and Loretta Palm (John). Grandmother of Karen (Robert), Christine (the late Leon), Nancy, Anthony (Toni), Holly, Floyd Jr. (Donnella), the late Timothy, Chad (Julie), Kevin (Jennifer), Rickie (Chandra), Angelle (Seth), John III (Annette), Michael (Mandy) and Daniel (Katie). Also survived by 33 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-granddaughter. Sister of the late Eunice Bye (the late Octave), Mae Pierce (the late Arthur), Hubert Grabert (the late Louise), Henry Grabert (the late Marie), Lawrence Grabert (the late Irene) and Madlene Dufrene (the late Denis). Daughter of the late Emma Hidalgo Grabert and Henry Hubert Grabert. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Doris was a devoted member of Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Bridge City and the HGA Ladies Club. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family. As a talented home cook, she could always gather her family with her signature gumbo and fried chicken. While her passing is sorrowful, her life and legacy will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 9 AM to 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Westwego.
