Daniel Joseph "Danny Boy" "Duke" Bourgeois, Sr., age 66, entered into spiritual sleep (Daniel 12:2) on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends, BUT one day he shall rise immortal at the sound of the Trumpet ( I Thessalonians 4:16). Daniel is a Native American (United Houma Nation) of Venice, LA. He was born in Buras, LA on May 6, 1951. Daniel grew up on Tiger Pass, enjoying the simple bayou life and the beautiful creations of our Creator, Yahweh. Daniel later moved to the "village" on Tide Water Rd. and married his Cajun Queen, Cathy, in 1972, whom he cherished for 46 years. Daniel was a passionate Commercial Fisherman. He loved being on the water catchin' and spending time with his friends at the marina. Son of the late Leon Bourgeois and Dorothy Guidry Bourgeois. Brother of Anthony (Ann), Patricia (James), Pamela (Jimmy) Enelda (Ronnie), Aline (T.J.), Johnny (Amaryllis), Tammie and the late Edward and Mary (Gus). In addition to his wife, Cathy, Daniel was a proud Dad to his children: Nicholas (Brandy), Nicole (Ryan), Natasha and the late Danielle, Naomi and Daniel, Jr. Daniel was especially proud of his 12 grandchildren, Jon, Kohlston, Rhenly, Anistyn, Ronan, Caitlin, Christian, Casey, Hailey, Gabriel, Lily, and Rayna. Daniel was loved and will be missed dearly by a host of family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 1pm at Faith Temple Ministries, 37307 Hwy 11, Buras, LA. Visitation will be held at the church Monday morning from 9am until 1pm. Pastor Jesse Morris, Jr. and Assistant Pastor Troy Creppel will be officiating the service.
