Carmella S. Hebert peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Andrew C. Hebert, who was owner of Hebert Pharmacy. Daughter of the late Michael Sammartino and Mary Thomas Sammartino. Loving mother of Dr. Stephen J. Hebert (Patsy), Wayne C. Hebert (Lisa), Diane H. Magee (Ray) and David M. Hebert. Grandmother of Natalie H. Barranco (John), Jeanine Chapman (Tex), Elizabeth H. Rameriz (Edward), Dr. Michelle M. Ponder (Stuart), Michael J. Magee (Dominique), Desiree Hebert and Amanda Hebert. Great Grandmother of Dominic Barranco, Vincent Barranco, Micah Magee, Caleb Magee, Edward Rameriz, Michael Rameriz, Chelsea Chapman and Celeste Chapman. Sister of the late Michael “Mickey” Sammartino. Aunt of Terry and Geralyn. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Oakwood Village for their wonderful compassion and love shown to Ms. Carmella during her stay. Carmella was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Marrero for 57 years. She was a member of The Blue Army, Carmelite Lay Community; a choir member along with various other ministries associated with Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 9:30AM until 11:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday at 11:30AM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
