Brian R. Reuther passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Survivors include his faithful and loving companion of 20 years, Merri Claire Cobert; daughter, Wendy Meador and her husband Robert; son, Ricky Reuther and his wife Alva; brothers, Warren Reuther Jr. and his wife Nancy and Douglas Reuther and his wife Sharon; sister, Betty Smith; grandchildren, Ryan Meador and his wife Dixie, Weslee Meador and his wife Danielle, Daniel Reuther and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lily, Annabelle and David Robert; nieces and nephews, Dr. Warren L. Reuther III, Dr. Robert G. Reuther, Kristin Landry, Jim Smith Jr., Dr. Jason Smith, Duane Smith, Craig Smith and Glenn Smith. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Warren Reuther and Bernadine Wattigney Reuther; nieces, Shannon Smith and Sherri Bundy.
Brian was born in New Orleans, LA, lived in Baton Rouge, LA for 35 years and returned to live in Barataria, LA. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 8 years and later retired from Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Brian was a talented wood craftsman and used his love for the outdoors as inspiration for many of his projects. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and share his talents in the kitchen. While he will be sadly missed, his life and legacy will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2653 Jean Lafitte Blvd., Lafitte, LA on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow.
