Beryl Cooper Rau

Beryl Cooper Rau, age 83 passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018. She was born April 25, 1934 in New Orleans, LA to her parents, Edith Foltmer Cooper and Leo Cooper, Sr. She was a resident of Algiers. Beryl was the loving wife of the late Fred D. Rau, Sr. for 53 years. Together they raised their five children, Debra Rau Beardsley (Sam), Fred D. Rau, Jr. (Denise), Kevin M. Rau (Cheryl), Heather E. Rau and the late Stephen O. Rau. She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Beryl was the loving sister to her four siblings, Joan Anderson, Gary Cooper and the late Wayne Cooper and Leo Cooper, Jr. Beryl graduated from Holy Angels High School. She then got married and devoted her life to raising her five children. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Algiers where she volunteered in the past. She enjoyed traveling, going to movies and going to dinner with her family and friends. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and she will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 11:30AM until 1PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
