Basile Macera

Basile Macera, a native of Gretna, LA passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the age of 85. Devoted husband of Carolyn Myers Macera for 57 years. Son of the late Frank Macera, Sr. and Lucia Ribaul Macera. Father of Lucinda Macera Jeansonne (John), Anthony Basile Macera and the late Katherine Macera LeBlanc (Kenneth). Grandfather of Kristen LeBlanc, Jody Jeansonne, Kaitlyn LeBlanc and Jenna Jeansonne. Brother of Frank Macera, Jr. (Charlene), Mary Grace Macera Orsag (the late Adolph) and the late Johnny Macera, Thomas Macera, Joseph Macera and Rose Macera Sloan. Basile is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. He served his country in the Korean War while enlisted in the Untied States Army. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will be in Slidell Veterans Cemetery.
